How to fill in the registrant of the trademark you submitted?
The registrant of the trademark is the rights holder. Please fill in the name of the registrant (trademark owner) as indicated in the trademark you submitted.
If the trademark has been assigned or the registrant’s name has been changed, please fill in the current registrant name as indicated on the website of Trademark Office where the trademark has been issued.
How to fill in the registrant of the trademark if it’s still pending assignment?
The registrant name should be consistent with the one published on the website of Trademark Office where the trademark has been issued. If the trademark assignment is still pending, there are two options for your reference:
1. If you need to submit the trademark information for verification urgently, please fill in the valid registrant name as published on the website of Trademark Office. In the meantime, please provide the IPR enforcement POA signed or sealed by the rights holder as published on the website of Trademark Office.
2. If you don’t need to submit the trademark information for verification urgently, you may submit the trademark information for verification once the trademark is assigned successfully. The assignee’s name should be filled in as the registrant.
How to choose the expiration date of the trademark you submitted?
1. If the trademark has not been renewed, please choose the expiration date as indicated on the trademark registration certificate.
2. If the trademark has been renewed, please choose the expiration date indicated on the trademark renewal certificate.
Please choose the class of goods/services of the trademark indicated on the trademark registration certificate. (If there are multiple trademark classes indicated on the trademark registration certificate you submitted, you may choose part or all of the class (es).
When should I provide trademark renewal certificate?
1. The validity of a trademark registration is 10 years since the date of registration. If your trademark registration remains valid, there is no need to provide the trademark renewal certificate.
2. If your trademark registration has been renewed before the expiration date, please provide the trademark renewal certificate issued by Trademark Office.
When should I provide trademark assignment certificate?
1. If the registered trademark has never been assigned upon registration, there is no need to provide any trademark assignment certificate.
2. If the registered trademark has been assigned upon registration, please provide a color scanned copy or digital photo of the trademark assignment certificate.
When should I provide certificate of change of trademark registration?
1. If there is no change to your trademark registration, there is no need to provide any certificate of change of trademark registration.
2. If there is any change to the trademark registration (registrant name, address or other registration information), please provide a color scanned copy or digital photo of the certificate of change of trademark registration.
What is the requirement to submit the identification document of rights holder?
1) For entities:
Please provide a scanned color copy or digital photo of the rights holder’s original identification document, such as business license, certificate of incorporation or business registration certificate.
2) For individuals:
Please provide a scanned copy or digital photo of the original Identity card/Passport/Driving License with the rights holder’s photo.

Why do I need to provide English/Chinese translation of the non-English/Chinese document?
If any relevant document is not in English/Chinese (e.g. Non-English/Chinese document of trademark registration certificate or identification document is uploaded.), we are unable to ascertain its content or verify its validity. You are advised to provide an English or translation together with the original non-English/Chinese document.
