What is a DMCA notice?

The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) is a copyright law of the United States which enables copyright owners to request to have removed from a website infringing content posted by other users, provided that their takedown notices comply with the requirements of the DMCA. A takedown notice that complies with the DMCA includes substantially the following information:
1.A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the copyright that is allegedly infringed.
2.Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
3.Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, and information reasonably sufficient to permit the service provider to locate the material.
4.The complaining party’s contact information.
5.A statement that the complaining party has a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
6.A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
If you submit a DMCA-compliant notice, Alibaba will process your complaint, but please note that your complaint may not ultimately be successful for a variety of reasons (e.g., the seller submits a successful counter-notice contesting removal).
