  • As an individual based outside mainland China,how do I register an IPP account?
  • 1. Access the Alibaba IPP Platform at https://ipp.alibabagroup.com/ and click the "Register" button at the top right-hand corner.


    2. Click the drop-down button and select your location as “Others” if you are a citizen residing outside mainland China.


    3. Select “Individual” if you are going to register an account as an individual.


    4. Choose “Right holder” if you are a rights holder or choose “Authorized agent” if you act as an agent authorized by a rights holder to protect and enforce their IPR by submitting notice-and-takedown requests.


    5. Enter a valid email address to receive relevant updates, such as registration verification codes, and other important notifications from the Alibaba IPP Platform. This email address is for registration purposes only and we will not share it with any other party unless you indicate otherwise.


    6. Set up your login password and refer to the pop-up notice for the detailed requirements.


    7. Slide the Verification arrow to the right to verify.


    8. Use the tick box if you agree to the IPP User Agreement and IPP Privacy Policy (for details please click the “IPP User Agreement” or “IPP Privacy Policy” links) and click the “Agree and register” button to submit the registration application.


    9. Please check your mailbox (the email address you have just entered to register the IPP account) and enter the six-digit verification code to finish the account registration.


  • As an enterprise registered outside mainland China, how do I register an IPP account?
  • 1. Access the Alibaba IPP Platform at https://ipp.alibabagroup.com/ and click the “Register” button at the top right-hand corner.


    2. Click the drop-down button and select your location as “Others” if you are an enterprise registered outside mainland China.


    3. Click “Enterprise” if you want to register an account as an enterprise.


    4. Choose “Right holder” if you are the rights holder or choose “Authorized agent” if you act as an agent authorized by a rights holder to protect and enforce their IPR by submitting notice-and-takedown requests.


    5. Enter a valid email address to receive relevant updates, such as registration verification codes, and other important notifications from Alibaba IPP Platform. This email address is for registration purposes only and we will not share it with any other party unless you indicate otherwise.

  • When I register an Alibaba IPP platform account, why does it say my phone format is incorrect?
  • 1. Please note that you are only required to enter a phone number when you choose the location as “Mainland China” and the identity category as “Individual”. Please check whether you have selected the correct location and identity category. If you are a citizen residing or enterprise registered in mainland China, please choose the location as “Mainland China”. If you are a citizen or enterprise outside mainland China, please choose the location as “Others”.


    2. If you choose the location as “Mainland China” and the identity category as “Individual”, please enter a valid mainland China cellphone number.

  • When I register an Alibaba IPP platform account, why do I get a “wrong password” message?
  • Please note that the password should meet ALL requirements below:

    1. 6-20 characters in length, and the password cannot be the same as your username;

    2. Contain at least two letters (a-z), numbers (0-9), or punctuations.

    3. Please also note spaces are not accepted and the letters are case sensitive.

    If the entered password is invalid, please check if it does not meet the aforementioned requirements (also see screenshot below).The requirement that is not met is indicated.


  • Why can’t I see the sliding bar needed for verification?
  • If there is no sliding verification bar shown (see screenshot below), please try to use another internet browser, such as Chrome, Firefox, etc. If you still cannot slide for verification, please provide us with the following information:

    1. The name of your internet browser(s);

    2. The version of your internet browser(s);

    3. The time when you tried to slide for verification; and

    4. The complete screenshot(s) of the webpage with the issue, including the relevant hyperlink of the webpage.


  • When I register an Alibaba IPP platform account, why do I get the message “An account already exists with this email, please enter another email address or username”?
  • If it shows “An account already exists with this email, please enter another email address or username” (see screenshot below), please first double check whether you have previously registered the account on the Alibaba IPP platform.

    If you have registered an IPP account, please click here (https://ipp.alibabagroup.com/login.htm) to sign into your IPP account.

    If you have registered an IPP account but applied for deactivation, the email address used previously cannot be used. Please enter a new email address which has not been used for registration on the Alibaba IPP platform.


  • What can I do if I cannot receive the verification code through email?
  • If you are unable to receive the email verification code, please refer to the instructions below:

    1. Please check whether the email address entered is valid.

    If it’s valid, please check your junk mail folder as sometimes email providers block certain types of emails.

    If it’s invalid, please re-enter a valid email address and try to re-register the account.

    2. There may be delay in receiving the email verification code, please re-check your inbox a bit later.

    3. If you still cannot receive the verification code, we recommend that you contact the administrator of your emails or server to release the notification message from Alibaba Group. Or you may try using another email address to register an account.

  • What can I do if I get the message “Verification code reached limit. Try again later”?
  • Please note that the email verification code will be valid for 30 minutes. If it shows “Verification code reached limit. Try again later” (see screenshot below), you may have clicked the “Send” or “Resend” button too often. Please try again later.


  • When I try to receive the email verification code, why do I get the message “Network busy, please try again later”?
  • When you see “Network busy, please try again later” (see screenshot below), the possible reasons are:

    1. The registration page may have been open for too long a period of time;

    2. There might be network failure;

    Please check your network, refresh the registration page and try to re-register the account.


  • When I register an account on the Alibaba IPP platform and enter the received email verification code, why do I get the message “Invalid verification code, please re-enter”?
  • Please note that the email verification code is valid for 30 minutes once sent. You may receive this error because:

    1. You may have successfully clicked the “Resend” button and triggered a new verification code, but you were trying to enter the previous verification code(Note: Once a new verification code is generated, the previous one will no longer be valid.); or

    2. The email verification code may have expired.
